Every week, we invite a notable San Diego personality, business owner - or someone we just want to know more about - to tell their stories. Instead of just acting out what is heard, this FCI house team uses these stories as inspiration to go crazy hilarious places. It's getting to know you, mixed with "I never should have asked!"

Claire Kreger-Boaz grew up a classic 1980s latchkey kid in New Jersey and was her mom's right-hand man when it came to running inappropriate errands. After getting her BA in English Lit., she left the Garden State and lived in Alaska and Utah before finally settling in San Diego when she was 25 years old. Claire started working after school jobs when she was in the 7th grade, and so she has experienced just about every job-type America has to offer. In addition to a slew of typical service jobs (babysitter, baker, various mall jobs), she’s been a bartender, a case manager at a women’s shelter, a roller coaster operator, a box assembler, and an executive assistant to a famous literary agent who she's pretty sure The Devil Wears Prada was based on.

She’s spent most of her professional adult life, however, as a writer and editor. Claire currently works a Project Manager for the National Association of Music Merchants in Public Affairs and Government Relations. She gets to travel the U.S. advocating for music education and produces the "Talking Up Music Education" podcast. Just this past summer, she attended both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions and produced podcast episodes featuring music education advocates from both sides of the aisle (Ben Vereen, Ben Folds, David Brooks, Mike Huckabee).

Claire's favorite thing in the world is hanging out with her girlfriends, called "The Bats," trying to play ukulele with her son, Max, laughing and performing improv with her husband, John, and encouraging the family dog, Ruby to get "the crazies." When she is not doing any of those things, she is probably trying to watch Netflix and Chill.
