Manor Social Club

THE MANOR COFFEE SHOP IN WEST PORTAL first opened its doors in 1967. In 1982, Chuck’s son Ray took the helm of his father’s shop and has maintained the magical step back in time that is The Manor. It has been a destination for good food and has served as a neighborhood gathering spot for young and old for decades.

While the clanging of the old street cars that rattled up West Portal avenue has faded, the Manor continues to endure. In 2015, after 48 years of service, Ray and the Jeung family sold the Manor to new chef/owner Michael Gonzalez.

Michael grew up in the West Portal neighborhood ( a neighborhood kid!) eating at the establishment he would go on to own. He has worked at several restaurants throughout San Francisco before deciding to attend culinary school and eventually working in France. After a few years however, home beckoned, and Michael returned working as a private chef for 10 years before Manor.
