2/24- Playlist Seattle #2: featuring theatre pieces inspired by Nirvana and Ayron Jones and The Way + a live performance by Ayron Jones and The Way! Ballard Homestead, $7 advance, $10 door "On Tuesday, February 24 the second edition of Playlist Seattle will be performed. A new music-inspired theatre project, Playlist Seattle is created by local director/producer Kelly McMahon and features original plays and performances inspired by the songs of musicians in Seattle and the surrounding area. The Playlist II will highlight the music of iconic Nirvana and up-and-coming stars Ayron Jones & the Way. Playlist Seattle is hosted by Ballard Homestead, a new performance and community venue in Ballard curated by Abbey Arts. The project has also received support from the Office of Arts and Culture through their smART Ventures grant program. Conceived as an on-going series, Playlist Seattle aims to highlight bands and musicians throughout the city and surrounding area, both big name acts like Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix, but especially younger musicians who are active in the local music scene today. The individual plays and performance pieces that make up each Playlist will include submissions by playwrights, poets, storytellers and other writers; the Playlist Ensemble will also devise pieces throughout the project. Through the Playlist Series, the complete history of Seattle’s legendary music scene will be up for dramatic interpretation, with a number of bands already on the radar for upcoming editions– Heart, Mad Season, Mary Lambert, The Missionary Position, Julia Massey and the Five Finger Discount, just to name a few." 7:30 show, 7:00 doors open, $7 advance, $10 at the door all ages, seated, PG13
