Black Trans* Lives Matter

In 2014 12 out of the 14 reported murders of trans* women of color were black. The murders of trans* women of color make up 67% of all murders against LGBT people. So far this year 4 black trans* women have killed in the United States. During this action we will remember murdered black trans* women like -Goddess Edwards who was found shot to death at a motel in Kentucky on January 9th. -Lami Beard who was found shot to death outside in Virginia on January 17th. -Ty Underwood who was found shot to death outside in Texas on January 26th. -Yazmin Vash Payne who was stabbed to death by her boyfriend in California on January 31st. Just as important we will protest to highlight the countless number of black trans* people who face problems like like poverty and homelessness, police violence, domestic violence, rape, denial of medical services, and other issues.
