Mv Music Presents: John Cage Musicircus says
John Cage (1912–1992) was an American composer, music theorist, writer, philosopher, and artist. A pioneer of indeterminacy in music, electroacoustic music, and nonstandard use of musical instruments, he is thought to have invented the concept of the “prepared piano,” a technique which involves placing objects (called preparations) on or between the strings to alter the sound produced. His notoriously inventive style continues to inspire new forms of experimentation and exploration in music.

The John Cage Musicircus is a three-hour celebration of Cage’s works and influence on music, dance, art, and spoken word. Participating musicians will surround the audience, immersing them in a multisensory experience. KING FM's Maggie Molloy will offer a preconcert lecture starting at 6:30pm.

Presented by: MV Music and the Washington State Percussive Arts Society; This project is supported, in part, by a grant from 4Culture.

Media sponsorship provided by KINGFM/Second Inversion.
