The Frye Art Museum Board of Trustees and Director Jo-Anne Birnie Danzker invite you to celebrate the opening of
Future Ruins: Rodrigo Valenzuela
Rodrigo Valenzuela is a Seattle-based artist and the winner of the 2013 Stranger Genius Award in visual art and 2014 Artist Trust Arts Innovator Award. Although he has exhibited widely in the United States, Valenzuela’s exhibition at the Frye Art Museum is his first solo museum exhibition and the first large-scale presentation of his work in Seattle. It features two works created especially for the exhibition, a large-scale architectural installation titled Hedonic Reversal and a three-channel video projection, El Sisifo, which is based on the myth of Sisyphus.
