Mad Art Gallery says
Mad Art Gallery is excited to announce the Closing Reception of its fifteenth year anniversary exhibition, “Traces”. Presented by St. Louis curator Ellie Balk, this two-month long show features the work of Jacob Berkowitz and Hubert Dobler. Local artist Berkowitz, a member of the Screwed Arts Collective, is known for his large scale monochromatic abstract paintings done with a proprietary dry brush technique. He has unveiled a new mural spanning the fifty foot length of the gallery wall. Dobler, an Austrian-born, New York-based artist, is showcasing the medium for which he is most known: motorcycles. Standing in for the artist’s hand and pencil, a Honda CB550 motorcycle has been installed from the ceiling then released in order to create burned rubber marks on primed panels. The closing reception will unveil a new performance by Dobler. Both artists are showing additional paintings and have work for sale.

You can visit the show during Capitalist Pig lunch and brunch hours! Enjoy a taste of the best BBQ in town and get a full view of the exhibition.

THURSDAYS, 11-3pm, 6-9pm
FRIDAYS, 11-3pm
