The Chedi Andermatt

The first five-star hotel to open in the traditional ski village of Andermatt, the Chedi offers a sumptuous stay with views of the alps, Andermatt itself and Schöllenen Gorge. Hotel decor is in a sleek Alpine-meets-Asian style with all the indulgent touches you would expect from a five-star residence. Top-tier rooms include the Gemsstock Suite with uninterrupted views of Gemsstock mountain, and the huge Furka Suite with its own private spa. Somewhat unusually for Switzerland, the hotel has an exclusive sushi restaurant - The Japanese restaurant by Hide Yamamoto - which seats just 46 guests for authentic sushi, sashimi and tempura. There's also more traditional pan-European fare, including alpine dishes such as fondue, on offer at the main hotel restaurant. The Chedi boasts its very own ice rink as well as a 2,400 square metre spa and wellness centre complete with a lap pool, gym and a range of deluxe treatments on offer.
