Time Out says

Andermatt is a traditional Swiss ski resort with excellent skiing for expert level skiers. The village retains its traditional charms for now.

A ski region that remains outside the international mainstream despite its highly regarded skiing, Andermatt has recently enjoyed a renaissance. A noteworthy five star hotel, The Chedi, has opened and helped put the resort on the map as an aspirational upmarket destination. The Chedi is part of a huge development that will eventually include five more hotels and high-end apartments. That said, the traditional Swiss charm of the village remains intact for now. The resort offers excellent terrain for expert skiers, but there’s a good choice of runs for intermediate skiers too. Skiers of all levels can expect far less piste traffic than at the larger Swiss resorts, making it a good choice if you like to take your time and relax.
