Growing up, it was common for Francesco Annaloro to have a scoop of gelato almost every day in the summer—hardly surprising, considering his family has been running a beloved gelato shop for generations. Annaloro is behind L'Artigiano Gelato, a legendary gelateria known for its commitment to tradition.
Once a humble cart started by his great-grandfather in Perugia, Italy, Annaloro has kept the family-owned business rolling, quite literally, debuting in the U.S., serving scoops out of a custom 1957 Fiat 500. Now, the car has rolled into DUMBO, bringing its creamy, artisan scoops of affogato al caffè, stracciatella and tiramisù, imported fresh from Italy.
