Time Out says

The National Art Center, Tokyo isn't just interested in blockbuster exhibitions by long-dead European painters, you know: each year, the museum's curators pick a bunch of contemporary artists who deserve wider exposure, and give them exactly that in the Artist File group show. There'll be eight Japanese and overseas artists featured in this year's edition, working in a range of different media but united by 'their dedication to their work, their will to earnestly confront social and personal issues, and their drive to explore the limitless possibilities of artistic expression'. Installation artists Shiho Kagabu and Takamasa Kuniyasu and painter Jun Azumatei will be making the most of the museum's ample space by exhibiting new large-scale pieces, while the show also includes work by the UK's Darren Almond, South Korea's Yeondoo Jung and India's Nalini Malani, among others.
