Time Out says

In the mid-20th century, the state of California became a hotbed for modernism, leading historian and novelist Wallace Stegner to make his famous observation in 1959 that 'California is America, only more so.' First shown at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2011, this wide-ranging survey of designs from that era – billed as the first of its kind – now arrives in Tokyo. Living in a Modern Way features over 250 examples of classic Californian design, from furniture to swimwear, divided into the categories of 'Shaping', 'Making', 'Living' and 'Selling'.
