A group of performance artists who first won recognition with their YouTube videos, which led to festival and exhibition invitations both in Japan and overseas, Contact Gonzo have developed a unique, improvisation-heavy show that can look like anything from street fighting to contemporary dance. Also proficient in video art and photography, the collective led by Yuya Tsukahara now take over the Watari-Um Museum with installations, sculptures and photo works, plus films (displayed on the fourth floor) that take you straight into the world of 'gonzo dancing' – a technique that also draws on the Russian martial art known as Systema.
