Each year, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography hosts a group show collecting work by some of the rising stars of the Japanese photo world. The latest picks five artists who've turned their back on the digital vanguard and begun to explore some of the oldest photographic techniques in the book, be it pinhole cameras, photograms or multiple exposures. They include Maiko Haruki, famed for her dark, abstract landscapes that demand closer inspection, and Ken Kitano, a master of the notoriously tricky large format camera.
