Time Out says

Each year, families throughout the country put their collections of ornamental dolls on display to mark the March 3 Hina Matsuri (known as both the Doll Festival and Girls' Day). Few collections, however, can rival that of traditional confectioner Toraya, whose then-boss Kurokawa Mitsukage commissioned a stunning set of dolls and accessories following the birth of his daughter in 1897. These ornate pieces are being put on public display for the first time in six years.
