The government's Agency for Cultural Affairs has been running the annual Japan Media Arts Festival since 1997, and now celebrates two decades of an undertaking notable for putting serious artwork on an equal footing with anime, manga and 'entertainment' (which includes video games, music videos, toys and what-have-you). This anniversary exhibit features memorable winners from past years and other notable submissions picked out by a jury of experts, and centres on Suehirocho's 3331 Arts Chiyoda, where you'll also find a temporary library stocked with the full series of all past winners in the manga category. These can all be read right then and there – reason enough to check out the exhibition, we think.
