Time Out says

For the opening exhibition of its new gallery space in Ningyocho, Tagboat is showcasing two curious contemporary art sculptures by Kai Ono and Shinji Mitsuzuka. Ono, who completed his graduate programme at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2022, is presenting his multi-coloured acrylic sculpture that challenges viewers' visual perception with its zig-zagging lines and contours.

Ono's rainbow sculpture, however, doesn't compete with Mitsuzuka's recreation of a giant banana, which commands attention in its own right. Titled 'Slapstick', this 6.5m-wide piece received two awards at the 2022 Taro Okamoto Contemporary Art Award Exhibition.
