Sculptor Kohei Nawa is obsessed with surfaces, whether he's covering stuffed animals in glass beads or conjuring vast edifices from polyurethane foam. For his first major solo exhibition, he's been set loose in one of Tokyo's biggest galleries, allowing him to give a complete overview of his varied, and invariably eye-popping, output. Not everything works, but there are some truly astounding pieces, including the aforementioned 'PixCell' animals and the final room of the exhibit, in which air bubbles up through baths of viscous liquid, creating an effect that's oddly hypnotic. Trust us: you'll want to go around the whole thing twice.
