Time Out says

Having represented Japan at the 2013 Venice Biennale, Koki Tanaka has earned plenty of international recognition for his artistic efforts that explore alternative perspectives for looking at both aesthetic and social issues. This show at Mito’s Art Tower shines the spotlight on Tanaka’s collaborative activities over the last five years, and is centred around video documentation of a six-day workshop during which the participants worked, lived and debated together under one roof. The overarching themes – community and how trust is created in communities – are also explored through the artist’s notes and pieces created by workshop participants during the process. One word of warning: the exhibition is mainly in Japanese, and is unlikely to be very interesting if you don’t speak the language.
