Marie Laurencin and her Era

Time Out says

Located 20 minutes' drive from the nearest station in a little-trafficked corner of Nagano Prefecture, the Musée Marie Laurencin was one of many Bubble Era indulgences that was left flailing for life once the '80s ended. Following its ignominious (and long overdue) demise last year, the museum is now sending its collection on tour around the country, in an exhibition that showcases Laurencin's work alongside pieces by artists from her circle in early-20th century Paris, many of them Japanese. With a museum's worth of material to draw on, there's far too much to squeeze into the intimate confines of the New Otani Museum, meaning that the show is being split into two parts (July 14-August 19 and August 21-September 30).
