The futuro-industrial Centre Pompidou in Paris holds the largest collection of modern art in Europe, rivalled only in its breadth and quality by New York's MoMA. Now making an excursion to the Metropolitan Art Museum in Ueno, it presents a challenging mix of modern and contemporary with this 72-piece exhibition featuring one artwork from every year between 1906 and 1977. You'll see masterpieces by the likes of Henri Matisse, Picasso and Wassily Kandinsky alongside lesser-known but occasionally even more interesting work in genres from painting and sculpture to photography, video and design.
