Measuring: This much, That much, How much?

Attempting to, ambitiously enough, make sense of the way we understand the physical world through measurable units, this exhibit looks at everything from globally accepted concepts like metres and seconds to units found only in specific societies. Led by art director Norio Nakamura and a team from the innovative Torafu Architects, it traces the process through which the 'unit' filter influences culture, the social order and art, and also incorporates a conceptual shop overseen by creative director Yu Yamada, plus talks and workshops that further the message of looking behind the fundamental structures of daily life.
