Mitsutoshi Hanaga: 1000

Having documented the Japanese avant-garde art scene, student activism and environmental issues from the late ’50s to the ’80s, photographer Mitsutoshi Hanaga had unique access to the likes of Shuji Terayama and his Tenjo Sajiki theatre troupe, butoh dance pioneer Tatsumi Hijikata and the Hi-Red Center artists. This exhibition at Ebisu's Nadiff Gallery celebrates the release of new photo book 'Mitsutoshi Hanaga: 1000' and consists mainly of outtakes from said volume.
