This free exhibition at the second-floor gallery space of Isetan Shinjuku features a line-up of vintage furniture by Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand and other leading designers. The collection, curated by Gerhard Schmidt, demonstrates a unique perspective on using everyday space. There's an array of priceless vintage furnishings, as well as contemporary pieces by Ben Storms and Thomas Serluis, two craftsmen who conceptualised their designs by using new techniques with old tradition.
With a wide array of vintage designs that have withstood the test of time, along with contemporary furniture that communicate universal aesthetics, this beautifully coordinated collection attempts to reignite our curiosity in interior design. It also seeks to inspire us to re-examine our relationships with objects and the space that surrounds us.
