Mummy, I’m Scarrred!

While there's certainly no shortage of Halloween parties going on around Tokyo this weekend, you'd be hard pressed to find any happenings as downright unusual as this one. The second ArtGigTokyo event (you remember Dirty, dirty! Sex, sex!, right?) will unfurl in the basement of an abandoned hospital in Hatsudai that's normally used for film shoots. Expect some suitably spooky performance art and installations from a range of Japanese and international artists, including controversial collective ChimPom and bonkers electro troupe Trippple Nippples, plus DJ sets and a costume contest. In a novel touch, the whole venue will be plunged into darkness, lit only by the flashlights toted by anyone brave – or crazy – enough to attend.
