Time Out says

In the heart of Kabukicho stands a curious red, castle-themed edifice, an anomaly amidst its neon-drenched surroundings. Erected in 1964, the Ohjo building has donned multiple hats: from a theatrical venue to a karaoke hub and even a dining establishment. Yet, as years rolled on, business dwindled, leaving parts of the building dormant.

Enter the Kabukicho Art Center Concept Committee, poised to breathe new life into this architectural relic by transforming it into a hub for avant-garde art installations and events. To mark its grand opening, the committee has collaborated with the illustrious artist collective Chim-Pom to curate a series of dynamic events, pop-up stores and installations throughout September. A highlight is the unveiling of a permanent exhibit within the building's four-storey atrium, a space untouched for three decades.
