In East Asia, paintings were commonly created in sets, on media such as diptychs, scrolls and folding screens. These paintings could be viewed individually or as a group, and arranged in a myriad of ways. The Nezu Museum has curated a number of works dating from the 16th century in their complete sets and you’ll be able to explore the fascinating nature of these paintings from different perspectives as the exhibition contemplates the connectivity and individuality of each piece.
