Ran Tondabayashi: The Freak Show

Criss-crossing the worlds of illustration, collage and painting, Tokyo's own Ran Tondabayashi is an up-and-coming artist to watch. Combining pop visuals with a touch of weirdness and vitriol, she's already worked with the likes of the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and United Arrows, and now presents a new solo show at the Voilld gallery, her home ground. 'The Freak Show' consists mainly of paintings and a number of 3D collages, while the on-site pop-up shop also sells posters, mugs, cushions and other fun accessories decorated with Tondabayashi's art.
