After a year-long delay amid the coronavirus pandemic, UK artist Ryan Gander is finally hosting his first solo exhibition in Tokyo at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery. Ganders works cover several mediums, from sculpture to photography and media art to paintings, often inspired by ordinary, everyday objects that tend to be overlooked.
For this occasion, Gander has combined his most recent works with some of his older installations to be viewed as a single art experience.
