Time Out says

Blurring the line between installation art and architecture, Tadashi Kawamata delights in turning cities inside out by introducing surreal, semi-demolished structures to the urban landscape. At the start of his career, the artist would fashion these installations from the remains of demolished buildings, recreating Brazilian favelas in New York and Germany. This show zooms in on these and other Kawamata projects realised between the mid-’80s and mid-’90s, offering an opportunity to find out where the now 64-year-old artist's creativity springs from.
