Time Out says

Jiro Takamatsu (1936-1998) founded the legendary Hi-Red Center together with Genpei Akasegawa and Natsuyuki Nakanishi in 1963 and subsequently embarked on a creative journey quite unlike any other in the history of modern Japanese art. In addition to the direct action taken by Hi-Red, including performances like the 'street cleaning' before the first Tokyo Olympics, Takamatsu produced paintings, sculptures, murals and installations, exploring themes like 'absence', the importance of the natural environment and the assumptions of art theory. In addition to actual pieces, this extensive retrospective explores his work through writings and sketches, reaching from the early '60s all the way to the early '80s.
