Famous for his mocking portrayals of the identity and role of people in modern society, the late Tetsuya Ishida is celebrated for his unique surrealistic paintings. His parents initially disapproved of his dark portrayals of life, but Ishida claimed he was happy that he could finally communicate his feelings through painting. This exhibition will show 108 of his major works, as well as 51 unpublished sketchbooks.
