The Art of Portraiture in the Louvre Collections

Escape the summer heat by brushing up your history of art knowledge. The National Art Center Tokyo is showing a vast collection of portraits and sculptures of Paris' famous art museum, the Louvre, until the beginning of September. Marvel at a broad selection of international art works stretching across centuries and eras − from ancient Mesopotamian sculptures and Egyptian masks to European paintings and sculptures of the 19th century, all of which, of course, focus on the specific qualities of portraits.
