Subtitled 'Majestic Renaissance Architecture', the Shiodome Museum's summer special marks a departure from the Panasonic-run institution's regular programming of modern-era French art and glassware. Focusing on the architectural talents of Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, one of the original Renaissance men and a master of everything from sculpture to military engineering, it contains around 35 authentic Michelangelo sketches, including a plan for the epic painting covering the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. As a special addition to the travelling exhibit, there will be a section dedicated to the influence Florence's 'divine one' had on some of Japan's greatest 20th-century architects.
