Time Out says

Founded in 1898 by the influential and enigmatic Tenshin Okakura, the Nihon Bijutsuin (Japan Art Institute) went through some hard times early, and had to be reestablished in 1914 after a short period of inactivity. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of this new start, this exhibition presents 120 pieces by masters of 'Nihonga', the traditional school of Japanese painting represented by artists like Hogai Kano, Taikan Yokoyama, and Kokei Kobayashi.
