Okinawa-based photographer Sap Chano dives deep into a vibrant African subculture with 'The Sapeur', a project that documents the style, convictions and fab lifestyles of Brazzaville's most fashionable characters. Les sapeurs are famed for staying dapper in the face of crushing poverty, war and social strife, and have become something of a symbol for the Congolese capital's enduring vitality. This exhibit at Daimaru Tokyo (11F event space) features over 200 photos and video interviews, providing a comprehensive look at the lives of these ever-trendy gentlemen.
