While the Tokyo Biennale won’t open until July 2023, the art festival is hosting a small series of exhibitions this month as a preview of bigger things to come. They will be held at multiple venues across the city, including Tokyo Dome City and the almost 400-year-old Toeizan Kaneiji Temple in Taito.
Participating artists include Takenori Miyamoto, Min Nishihara, Susumu Namikawa, Katsuhiko Hibino and the Tokyo Urban Farming Collective, who will combine elements of nature and traditional Japanese aesthetics in their series of contemporary pieces.
