What makes a city a city? In her solo exhibition at 3331 Arts Chiyoda, artist Miya Kaneko presents a series of conceptual pieces constructed from first-hand accounts (collected from workshop participants) of city life without any geographical references.
The works are abstract, but still feel familiar as they’re crafted of industrial materials used to create the everyday signs, structures and other public fixtures that we encounter in our cities. Aside from the compelling displays, visitors will also get an intimate look at Kaneko's creative process and be able to chat with her via telephone during the exhibition.
