This one is a retrospective on the work of Utagawa Kunisada, one of the best-known ukiyo-e (woodblock print) artists during the end of the Edo era, particularly renowned for portraying kabuki actors (yakusha-e) and beautiful women (bijinga). The exhibition will of course include a bountiful collection of ninja prints and colourful landscapes too – should be a decent chance for learning about both the artistic development of Kunisada himself and the rich culture of old Edo.
