Love coffee and cocktails? After a successful first stint in 2021, the SG Coffee Summit returns this month with an even bigger line-up of Japan’s top bartenders and baristas, who will be gathering in Shibuya for a series of in-depth coffee demonstrations. The event is open to the public and will take place in a number of venues around Shibuya’s Jinnan neighbourhood, including the Hive Jinnan, Ash, Swrl and, of course, The SG Club.
Bartenders who will host workshops in crafting the perfect cocktail include founder of The SG Club Shingo Gokan, as well as Shuhei Nomura from The Certain Bar and Shuichi Nagagtomo from Bar Oscar, the last two of which are based in Fukuoka. Meanwhile, baristas who will be partaking in the event include Akira Zushi and Takamasa Miki from Koffee Mameya, Kiyoshi Ogiwara from Fuglen Tokyo and Ippei Nishio from Direct Coffee Kyoto. Masterclasses will take place between 4pm and 7pm on the day, followed by an after-party led by DJs Sarasa and Tomoyuki Tanaka.
Tickets for masterclasses cost ¥3,000 per person and can be purchansed online. On the day of the event, each venue will also be selling drink and food tickets that cost ¥1,100 each (one ticket per drink), while a bundle of five tickets costs ¥5,000.
