Asobinite!!

You couldn't ask for a better overview of the current state of commercial Japanese dance music than this. Asobinite!! started life back in 2008, with the noble aim of bringing fashion and club culture closer together – a goal that's particularly close to the heart of the event's leading light, Yasutaka Nakata. The producer and DJ mastermind behind Perfume and Capsule has become one of the most influential forces in J-pop without sacrificing his elusive aura of cool. It's a feat that's been replicated by some of the others appearing with him at Asobinite!!, not least M-Flo and Teriyaki Boyz member Verbal, currently promoting his debut solo album. This being Ageha, there'll be all kinds of stuff going on in the other rooms, including a DJ set by Dragon Ash drummer Sakurai Makoto and a live turn by fromage-scented house producer Ram Rider.
