Time Out says

It's lazy journalistic shorthand to label a producer or DJ as the 'godfather' of a given genre, but in the case of Frankie Knuckles, it's probably accurate. The Bronx native landed a regular DJ slot at Chicago's new The Warehouse club in 1977, and the venue's name would come to be linked with the new style of music that he played there: house. Knuckles has been a constant presence on the scene ever since, whether buying his first drum machine from Derrick May in 1983, scoring Grammys for his production and remix work, or getting inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2005. You couldn't ask for a more capable set of hands at this Christmas Eve-Eve party, which sees the Godfather of House spin from start 'til close at Liquidroom.
