Demdike Stare

Experimental techno producer Mikes Whittaker and inveterate crate digger Sean Canty found fertile common ground when they began to collaborate as Demdike Stare a few years ago. Working mainly with samples culled from obscure LPs, the duo craft dense ambient drones and murky grooves, shot through with references to occultism and dashes of jet-black humour. You couldn't ask for a creepier way to spend a Saturday night – though rest assured that support DJs Inner Science, DJ Sprinkles aka Terre Thaemlitz and Yusaku Shigeyasu should at least play something that you can kinda dance to.
