DFA Night

John MacLean and DFA Records go way back – to the days before there even was a DFA Records, in fact. MacLean crossed paths with DFA co-founder James Murphy when he was still guitarist for underrated '90s post-hardcore band Six Finger Satellite, and the future LCD Soundsystem frontman was drafted in to record the group's final album. So began a long-running creative partnership, during which the angular Six Finger axe-slinger morphed into Juan Maclean, purveyor of some of DFA's most enduring synthpop and house hits (you've probably heard this one about a zillion times, for instance). He's a skilled DJ too, as evidenced by his superb contribution to the DJ-Kicks series in 2010 – so just sit back and enjoy the ride.
