There's no adequate catch-all for the kind of music that London's Eglo Records peddles. Set up in 2008 by Rinse FM regular Alexander Nut and Sam 'Floating Points' Shepherd, the label skirts the hinterlands of old-school house, UK garage, crossover and what was briefly pegged 'post-dubstep' in search of some untrammeled territory to call its own. Suffice to say that the sounds emanating from Unit on Saturday night should be very fresh indeed, with DJ sets from Nut and Floating Points, plus a DJ-MPC-Roland 303 workout by electro-loving producer Funkineven and a live turn by lusciously voiced singer Fatima.
