El Nino

Perched at the intersection between hip hop, dubstep and weirder sounds, the El Nino parties offer a haven for partiers who like their beats and bass served heavy and fugged-out. The latest does double duty as a two-for-one release party, as both 'spiritual' hip hop crew Mic Jack Production and dub reggae outfit The Heavymanners celebrate their latest albums (the latter complete with a guest turn by fiery dancehall MC Rumi). Eclectic techno DJ Nobu and dubstep doyen Goth-Trad will be spinning, while the obligatory sonic oddness comes courtesy of beatmakers The Lefty and Baba, reprising their occasional collaboration with avant-garde vocalist Fuyuki Yamakawa and striplight-toting noisemaker Atsuhiro Ito.
