The story goes that Washington, D.C. native Dave Nada created moombahton when he played a Dutch house record slowed down to 108BPM, and the music's thick, viscous grooves have since become the default setting for clubs in LA and Miami. Tokyo's been a little slow to catch on so far, but that might change with this party organised by the recently inaugurated Rebel Label Tokyo collective. DJs including Noxin, Hirokixx.G and Thomas Anderson will whip up a bass-heavy mix of moombahton, trap, hip hop, electro and – presumably – whatever else gets them booties shakin'.
