Kaikoo BLLR Vol.1

While there are still a few months to go until the Kaikoo Popwave Festival, you can tide yourself over in the meantime with this hip-hop-flavored party from the event's organisers, Popgroup Recordings. The name of the game is collaborations, and Popgroup's in-house turntablist extraordinaire DJ Baku will be playing in two units himself: as a duo with MC and beatmaker Baba (of alt-hop group Think Tank), and as part of Ill Bros, with rappers Taboo1 and MC Kan. More intriguing still are the proposed match-up between off-kilter production duo The Lefty, fluorescent lamp-wielding noise artist Atsuhiro 'Optrum' Ito and nightmarish vocalist Fuyuki Yamakawa, and the adroit pairing of laptop mavericks Eccy and Broken Haze in the second room.
