Legends: Grandmaster Flash

There are legends, and then there are Legends. And they don't get much more legendary than Grandmaster Flash, the pioneering turntablist who's been a fixture on the hip hop scene ever since there was a hip hop scene. In 2007, he and his group the Furious Five (you may remember their stone-cold classic 1982 single, 'The Message') were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – a first for a hip hop act. But while some of his peers are a shadow of their former selves, Flash can still hold his own at the decks. Catch him at Vision this Friday night, on a bill that also includes local spinners DVJ Ta-Shi, DJ Shark and Jommy, with Dabo and Darthreider doing microphone duties.
