Love Tribe 5th Anniversary

Bangin' techno producer Ken Ishii may seem like an odd choice of guest for this party organised by Jazztronik's Ryota Nozaki – until, that is, you listen to his new album. The just-released Music for Daydreams (credited to Ken Ishii & Metropolitan Harmonic Formulas) was inspired by the producer's stint providing a soundtrack for the Galleria shopping mall in Tokyo Midtown, and it's unlike anything he's done before: buoyant, jazzy and steeped in the sounds of vintage Chicago house and Detroit techno.
